Youth Finance Project

Comprehensive financial education for teens, free of charge.

About

My Mission

After graduating high school and entering college, I knew very little about handling my own finances. I, myself, have made just about every mistake you can regarding money habits, and I'd like to use what I've learned to make sure no one else makes those same mistakes. Virginia schools don't teach youth enough about financial and economic literacy, they are often left unprepared for adult financial responsibilities, which can lead to stressful and poor outcomes later in life. The financial environment for all of us is getting increasingly more complicated and difficult, and I want to help people navigate that, starting with teens.

Charlie Moore

Finance Student at Virginia Commonwealth University

Hi, my name is Charlie and I am a Finance Student at Virginia Commonwealth University in Richmond. I have lived in Reston my whole life and graduated from South Lakes High School in 2023. I am passionate about youth education and financial literacy, and I want to bring those skills to people in the D.C. Area. I know that these topics are underemphasized in schools and households, and I have studied rigorously to understand the what, why, and how of youth financial education.
